The Entrance

It’s a grey day, but escaping to The Entrance on the Central Coast for a bite to eat for lunch at the Waters Edge Restaurant on the Azzurro Blu Wharf , and a stroll along the water’s edge, up to the Ocean. The Entrance, as it suggests is where the ocean flows into Tuggerah Lake. A little sunshine breaking through the cloud, but windy and cold. Reached the far end of the boardwalk, and had to hurry back, as it started raining on us. Ahhhh, another wonderful day on the Central Coast.

Autumn Shades

A tour around Jilliby and Wyong, two little suburbs on the Central Coast – the last of the autumn colours, in Australia we have now moved into winter.

South Tecoma – Central Coast Wetlands

A visit to the Central Coast Wetlands, at South Tecoma. Not much rain lately, so good to see the water level not too bad in Pioneer Creek, and still plenty of bird life – lots of ducks, pelicans, waterfowls, even an egret. Could still do with a good trenching from Mother Nature. Love their magnificent Morton Bay Fig trees, they’re huge. Behind the Pioneer Dairy is the South Tacoma Golf Driving Range, for golfing enthusiasts.

Summer Storms on the Central Coast

Summer on the east coast of Australia – the heat causes some pretty fierce weather, a storm hit last night, small hail but strong winds and heavy rain. We were lucky, but friends really copped it further south, large hail: smashed skylights, broken windscreens on vehicles, blackouts, trees down, but more importantly, everyone safe.
